Mr Bhattarai is a senior consultant optometrist. He has completed his bachelor's degree in Optometry from NSHM Knowledge Campus affiliated to NIMS University, Rajasthan, India in 2015, and did his one full year internship from L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), India, and completed his Master's in Clinical Optometry from Chitkara University, Punjab, India in 2019.

After completion of his Bachelor's degree, Mr. Bhattarai started his clinical practice at Chitwan Eye Hospital, Bharatpur, Chitwan in 2015 as an Optometrist later he was promoted to Hospital manager in the year 2016 and continued his practice till late 2020.

Later on, he decided to serve the needy people nearby his home town Banke, Bardiya, and Surkhet, and come up with the plan of Kohalpur Netralaya.
